Do you know how many different kinds of broadband there are? Depending on the Broadband available in your area, you could have at least three different options. There is ADSL, or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, cable, wireless, and satellite, to name a few. Each has distinct advantages over dialup, but they are not the same.

ADSL uses copper telephone wires to transmit date, but does not interfere with or limit phone usage. A splitter is used that allows both systems to work in tandem. This method is fast, but not as fast as broadband cable, which is very fast and one the top high-speed picks. People upload and download their data with speeds much faster than traditional dial up service. Of course, when youcompare broadband, again, they are all good, but one of the best things about broadband cable is the user can be online, watch their cable TV, chat on the phone and fax all at the same time.
Broadband Wireless is another method. With this type of broadband, you aren’t restricted to sitting where your desktop is connected. You can move throughout your home, even outside, with a laptop computer and wireless router. It makes it easy to bring work home, because you can use your laptop at the office, bring it home when necessary, and work from your comfortable recliner if you want. Compare broadband providers for more location specific details, but know the basics of broadband to determine which is best for you.
